“The question l ask myself like almost every day is ‘ Am l doing the most important thing l could be doing” said Mark Zuckerberg the owner of Facebook. Indeed, this is a question we need to ask ourselves, every day and every moment of our lives.
Is what you are doing now the greatest thing you need to do at this point in time. Is it the most important, Is it the most needed, Is it the fattest frog, you need to eat?
Ask yourself this question every day, every time and in every thing you do. The best way to be more productive is to do the most important things first. Is to focus on doing the needed. A good answer to this personal daily question will help you stop chasing flies to start digging Gold.
Have priorities in life, don’t just get up to start doing things, if not you may end up being too busy to archive so little.
I don’t know what you want, but my little advice is jettison those activities that don’t add to your daily success and start adding meaning to your daily works which will give birth to your life time success. Stop doing those huge works that don’t count, and start doing those little things that do count. For, it is in the combination of those little daily works success is found.
The difference between the rich and the poor is that the poor are always too busy doing huge works that don’t count while the rich are less busy doing those little things that do count. Indeed, both work but what each do makes the difference.

The best way to be successful is to do things for the good of others. To consider the need of the society in which you live in and to work toward providing a solution to that need. All the inventions made where made by inventors who discovered a problem in the society or something needed to support the standard of living in the society and work toward providing the solutions. Thomas Edison saw darkness and the dangers associated with it then he visualize a solution, he works towards his dream and finally he came up with the solution as light bulb. Alexander Graham Bill invented the telephone and made our communication easier irrespective of the distance. Ts’ailun from China invented the first paper. Razor blade was invented by somebody, pen was invented by somebody, aeroplane was invented by somebody. Everything on earth not made by Nature is made by man. All inventions are the contribution of some men to our world for the betterment of our existence.

If you get it correct, that is good but if you don’t really understand him don’t worry the message in this article is sufficient for you. Before l start, l will like to say once again, congratulations. Congratulations to all year one students, congratulations to you, young and brilliant stars sent to change the world, congratulations to you again and again. I wish you a blissful stay on your campuses.
Never the less, you deserve to be congratulated the more, you deserve to be celebrated in more honourable way because it is not easy to be where you are now. Therefore, l decided to write this article Knowing fully well what it takes to climb to a height with such prestige. And as well what it takes to remain at a prestigious position till the end. With regards to this, l pray you read till the end. I have a message for you. And just for you because I love you and want you to archive your purpose in life.

NOW, AFTER MATRICULATION WHAT ELSE?
After matriculation, there are so much more to do. There are much academic work to embark on, together with other aspects of life like religious, financial and ones personal life to organize.
But, how can we balance our life in the midst of all these? This question may look trivial, though your answer to it will be the summation of you attitude, character and choice throughout your stay in this school. At this point you may still not have known what a University is all about. But sooner or later you will understand for l know very well that one can not remain the same after passing through a University, is either you are reformed or deformed. In either cases, they all start now.
I always define University life or life in a University as part of that period of ones existence when an individual seems to concentrate more on acquiring a skill or skills which will be applied in the future.
From the definition, we can say that a person in a University is purposefully there to acquire skill or education. Therefore, as a University student you must consider first your academic life especially when so many things are seeking your attention, always remember that you are here to be educated and this is the primary reason you left your home, your parents and siblings to come over here. Therefore, take it serious and never fail to remind yourself of that very fact everyday of your stay here. In a nutshell, we can stylistically put it that after matriculation there are many books to climb or step on (read) in order to get to the top.
IS IT ALL ABOUT STUDIES?
It is right to say you are primarily here to be educated. But, then you ought not to over engaged in studies (especially those in the medical field) to the detriment of other aspects of your life. For instance, feeding. Make sure you always eat balanced diet.
Take vegetables and fruits at least once in a day. And finally aways take more of carbohydrates than protein the brain uses glucose. To clear all doubts visit your doctor for a better guide on food and nutrition. I think, you need to get this point which is the reason why I decided to write this article in the first place.
SO FOLLOW ME HERE, l want to reveal to you one secret which many never realize while they were in school but to realize it after graduation. I will also touch some factors which leads to cases where a student commits suicide. What causes unemployment after graduation and the rest if time and space permit.
But before that, l will like us to always know that without God we can do nothing. Without Him our existence would have not been. In respect of that, we must give our life to the creator not just by going to church but by worshipping him in truth and in spirit. The scripture said, ” truly, a stupid man is a person who doesn’t acknowledge the presence of God”. Get it right, God is everywhere, and is demanding that you worship him everywhere you go not just in the church. The summary of it all is, fear God and do His commands.
For wanting of space and time, l will sum everything up in this short paragraph. And there we go, life on campus is just part of your life experience. Take it lightly with yourself, don’t boarden yourself much. We came with nothing, we are going to leave the earth empty handed. We are here just to have an experience of what it means to live. So just take everything as part of your experiences and be glad for everything even when they are not in your favour. The couch who wins is not that which couches the best team but that which knows the weakness and strength of his team. Know your weaknesses and strengths, try to correct your weaknesses but always focus on building your strength.
For wanting of space as I said, l will stop with this few words, if you are not happy with the experiences you are having as a student, there is greater probability you will never be happy when school years will be over.
Be a happy student, and you will be a happy person in life.

The greatest bondage is the bondage of the mind. People natural exist in this zone of life when they strongly believe in the wrong information, idea or false teaching. The worst ignorance is acquiring the wrong information, it is the blindness of the mind and a chronic disease. It is in the same phase with madness. A person in this condition hardly take correction because he/she solemnly believe in his ignorance, that is why it is a chronic disease. You can keep yourself in this condition and people can also keep you here. Pray you are not mentally bound. If not you will waste your life thinking that a green rope is a green snake.
Example of those in this condition are those with the "l can't mentality".
You see most of the things you are afraid of are really afraid of you. The things you think are not possible are really possible. Your mind tells you that you can’t and without making any attempt you believe that you can’t. People have been mocking you, telling you that you can’t and you believe them, right? Why not make an attempt, why not put your best, why not try first. Success is in trying not in the opposite. A wise man said “l don’t regret when I fail, l only regret if l fail to try”. Stop being afraid of the unknown and start doing that which you know, it will pay you more than you think. If you are afraid to act, you are in bondage. The only way to success is by trying, you can’t archive what you never tried to archieve. Archivers are attempt takers.
Winners are thinkers, stop buying people’s story and start thinking for yourself. You are the author of your destiny. If you think it is impossible, it becomes impossible and if you think it is possible it becomes possible.
Lastly, be careful how you handle your thoughts because it is the raw material for the building of your destiny.
It’s disheartening and incongruent that so many countries today are struggling through serious upheavals, turbulences, and quagmirs under the watch of the almighty United Nations. People are dying in their numbers on daily basis without any feasible plan to forestall further deaths. All these are the direct consequences of incompatible unions that many ethnic groups have been forced into. A very rational thinker would be right to interrogate the validity of such unions if people’s lives are no longer guaranteed. The foregoing has been the occupation of the minds of mature Nigerians ever since our constitutional rights to life has become an illusion. One big question here is ” is man still a rational thinker?”
Anything that cannot be subjected to reason is unreasonable. The heat that is radiating from the furry of ever furious partners of this ill conceived marriages rested on a fragile altar is now causing serious suffocation. It’s unfortunate that reason has been dislocated from that which is reasonable. As a matter of fact, unreasonable people are now in the business of associating reason to unreasonable facts.
United Nations is a union which is a conglomeration of different nations of the world. The union, among other things, monitors every country in the world to ensure the security of lives. Today, while the union lives on, many lives are been wasted without any conscious effort to ameliorate the situation. When a dog lacks the capacity to back, what then is the relevance of the dog in the house.
Apart from Africa where countries are formed without giving consideration to the people’s historical background, in the Western World, self determination is anchored on people’s historical background. That is why the Whites enjoy relative peace while here in Africa, we continue to kill one another for ethnic and tribal reasons. Who Bewitched us like this? When are we going to learn? This is what we call the bondage of the mind.
It is being said that knowledge is power by so many people, almost everybody believes in this. I could remember putting on that little checkers school shirt with a breast pocket on the left hand side. The small pocket had a school badge sewed on it. On the badge, the logo of our school was drawn on it and around the logo was the inscription: “motto: Knowledge is power” and then the name of my school was written either above the logo or within the logo. The badge stood as the symbol representing my elementary school traditional spirit and ideals. Well, you may not have been in a school where this phrase was used as the school’s motto but l believed you might have come across the phrase so many times and the truth remains that many academic institutions have it as their motto that is to say that it is universally accepted that knowledge is power. But, despite this universal acceptance, a man named Anthony Robbins stood out and said, “Knowledge is not power, knowledge is only potential power. Action is power”. Is he correct? Yes, l agree with him that knowledge is not power, l also agree with him that knowledge is only potential power and potential power is an unrealized ability, an unused ability, an ability existing in a person at rest. It is an ability to be either wasted or used. As a result of this founding, l have come to a conclusion that acquiring knowledge is not an end, it is a means to an end. As an unused power is a wasted power so is an unused knowledge a wasted knowledge. Is not all about knowing more, is about applying the ones you know. Have you ever heard of this before, ” l don’t know what to do”. Well, l have heard that from so many people and when ever l heard people say this, l always ask them if they have done what they know. Our problem most times is not not knowing what to do but not applying what we know. Do you know that the more advice you seek, the more confuse you become. Do you also know that within every man there is a universal intelligent. Well, my final advice is apply the things you know more knowledge will come on the process of applying the ones you know. No successful man has the full knowledge of the root to success. Life offers no manual to anyone. If the past archivers know it all before they started, they would have not made errors. Thomas Edison would have not failed many times. There would have been no cleaner, assuming the writers know it all. You have read enough, take action. Action is power.
Knowledge without application is powerless.
