What a wonderful poem “The Burning passion”

by Oduburu Ignatius

Burning passion

The voice is of passion
Calling passionately my name
With burning zeal I answered
The hold ups I remain blind
Just to be duty bound

While my heart is deeply buried
With all my strength for the best
Thinking that my palms shall be greased
To water my long dry throat
And quieten my noisy bowel

Like a patient dog
I have continued to wait
The fattest bone not in view
I grumbled as a hungry child
But refused to quit for passion

Let heaven hear my voice
For my reward lies their in
When with hope I transit
Let not my honour be denied
For passion’s sake I sacrifice my joy on earth
